Gottagetagunner dominated Australian Reining when he burst onto the scene in 2015. Sired by the NRHA’s #2 Sire of all time Colonels Smoking Gun (Gunner), Gottagetagunner upholds the family legacy and was crowned Australia’s Highest Earning horse in 2016 and 2017.

Partnered with Australia’s leading Non Pro, Cameron Halliwell, Gottagetagunner brought home an unprecedented 16 aged event Titles plus numerous Open and Non Pro Championships. Including Reining Australia Non Pro Derby wins 2016 & 2017, VRHA Open Derby Co-Champion 2017 & Champion 2018, NSWRHA Int, Open and Non Pro Futurity, 2015 Reining Australia Non Pro Futurity Champion and the list goes on and on. Netting in-excess of $50,000 in earnings, his wins were prolific and stand as witness to his consistency and longevity.

With his first foal crop hitting the pen in 2020 the future looks bright. Co-Owner Keiran Moses showed one of the contenders, Finallygotagunner (Gottagetagunner X OP Finally Dun It) at the Victorian Reining Horse Association (VRHA) State Championship just prior to Covid19 turning our world upside down.  The result has given just a taste of what lies ahead for Gottagetagunner progeny. The new partnership marked a 141 despite a late lead change and every stop was rewarded with a +1/2. “It’s so nice to ride a horse that just runs down there and stops. I’ve never had one stop like her, it’s really cool” recalls Keiran.
